To dispose of asbestos you will at the very least need to wrap it securely in plastic sheeting. It must then be disposed of in line with the Glasgow City Council guidelines for asbestos disposal.
It cannot be placed in general waste bins (either for collection or at recycling centres) due to the serious risk to health it carries. It’s usually a good idea to have the materials removed by a specialist rather than to attempt it yourself, but if you to choose to do the work, be sure to fully research the risks and take necessary precautions.
